Summer Steppin’ – Salsa
Thomas O’Flaherty will be joining us at The Floating Front Room for 6 sessions of dance classes, inviting you to have fun learning salsa the Afro Latin dance from Cuba, the Argentine Street dance of tango and learning body percussion techniques and rhythms.
Thomas teaches by making you feel comfortable and relaxed at first, then shows you how to follow rhythm and finally the basic steps and techniques in small memorable chunks. Beginners with no experience are more than welcome!
Sessions will run every Saturday, 11am – noon in South Loop Park, Birmingham, B16 0AE.
Saturday 24th July at 11am – Salsa
Saturday 31st July at 11am – Salsa
Saturday 7th August at 11am – Tango
Saturday 14th August at 11am – Tango
Saturday 21st August at 11am – Body Percussion
Saturday 28th August at 11am – Body Percussion
Please just come down on the day to take part, with no need to book.
All sessions are free to join.
Thomas O’Flaherty is a dance teacher, performer, DJ and percussionist from Birmingham. He has many years of experience, teaching and running workshops, and dancing to live music is his biggest passion.
Some of his many achievements include being the first qualified Salsa Teacher in the UK 2000, 3 times Salsa Rico dance champion 1997-99 and UnLtd Award Winner in Latin and Caribbean dance and music teaching in 2003.
Safe + Well
Officially all restrictions will be lifted as of Monday 19th July, but to keep ourselves and others safe we would recommend keeping physically distanced during the classes. If you would like to practice your new dance skills with a partner, please bring someone along!
